Quoting & Estimating Engineer

Job Description
As a Quoting & Estimating Engineer and part of the BMT Aerospace sales team, you will play a crucial role in the handling of quote requests from different customers. You develop accurate cost estimates and competitive quotations for high precision aerospace gears and components. Your expertise will contribute to the success of business development and will enable BMT Aerospace to secure new contracts with existing and new customers. This role requires a strong technical background, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. You report to the Head of Pré-Sales.

Key Responsibilities:

•    Handling customer RFQ’s from start till finish
•    Analyze customer technical drawings and specifications to develop the optimum manufacturing processes and bill of material
•    Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams to gather relevant data and ensure accurate cost calculations.
•    Calculate product cost for new business and existing contracts
•    Conduct annual pricing reviews to maximize sales and achieve BMT growth plans
•    Pull the Quote and Contract review process for specific projects
•    Analyse capacity impact for new parts on the existing product portfolio
•    Maintain and keep the Quote log up to date
•    Collaborate with finance and project management teams to ensure alignment between cost estimates, budgeting, and project execution

Key Competencies:

•    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
•    Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials and technical specifications.  Experience in gear manufacturing is a plus
•    Communication skills with cross-functional teams, customers and suppliers. 
•    Problem solving and self-directed personality
•    Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
