Andac started at the Türkiye plant in 2002 as a CNC operator at the young age of just 19 years old. Thanks to his personal interest in IT and the opportunities OMCO offers its employees, he has evolved to be the IT manager of the plant, succesfully integrating the IT department from scratch. We sat down with him to talk about his trajectory and what he thinks about working for OMCO.

Interview with OMCO Turkey's IT manager, Andac Kartal

Q: How would you describe working for OMCO?
A: In OMCO, the employees always support each other, fostering a good team spirit. It feels like working in a family. After the factory became part of the OMCO Group, we are more central in the world and really feel more globalization since then. We have a strong sense of job stability because of that.

Q: What are the biggest challenges in your job?
A: Personally, the English level is the main issue now.

Q: What is important for you to stay interested in your job?
A: After transitioning from CNC operator to IT, it feels like doing a hobby rather than work. It doesn't feel like working for a living. Especially today, IT is important in every aspect of the company with new technologies emerging. I feel lucky to be a part of it all.

Q: Do you have any goals, ambitions, or projects that you want to start?
A: The implementation of Artificial Intelligence in the workspace is project that is on the horizon and will bring it's challenges with it.

Q: What tips would you give to someone new at OMCO?
A: Young employees have a chance to show their performance and skills. If you demonstrate your capabilities, OMCO will provide opportunities for growth in your career. This is something that is the case for many colleagues at OMCO, including myself. Additionally, if you have ideas, people at OMCO are willing to listen and discuss them.
