Job purpose
Purchasing Shared Service Manager leads our purchasing and procurement operations across our three plants located in Romania, Belgium, and the United States. The vision is that purchasing of raw materials and all processes around it is best centralized for all sites. This brings synergies and savings, resulting in lower overall labor cost and overall cheaper raw materials.


Main responsibilities and key tasks

1st phase
•    Set up standardized processes for purchasing across all sites (through SAP roll out)
•    Set up this new purchasing team in the shared services center (hire & train)

2nd phase
•    Full responsibility of the purchasing of materials & services for all 3 sites
•    Strategic Sourcing: Developing and implementing sourcing strategies to optimize costs and ensure the quality of materials.
•    Supplier Management: Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring supplier performance meets company standards.
•    Process Improvement: Streamlining procurement processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. All processes will be based on SAP best practices.
•    Compliance: Ensuring all purchasing activities comply with industry regulations and company policies.
•    Team Leadership: Leading and mentoring a team of purchasing professionals to achieve departmental goals.
•    Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure the best possible prices and agreements.
•    Budget Management: Manage the procurement budget, prepare cost analyses, and generate reports to ensure financial efficiency.


Job requirements

Educational requirements:
-    University education or equivalent by experience

Experience requirements:
-    Minimum 10 Yrs experience in Purchasing & Procurement
-    Minimum 5 Yrs experience in people management 

Job specific competencies:
-    Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
-    Excellent analytical, decision-making, and management skills.
-    Deep understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems.
-    Ability to work under pressure and adapt to dynamic environments.
-    Attention to detail and a commitment to achieving operational efficiency.
-    English is a must; another European language an advantage
-    Demonstrate the ability to articulate your analysis.
-    Excellent communications and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate 
-    Function requires to be communicative, problem solver and open minded. 
-    Strong PC skills with a solid understanding of Office package: Excel is must.
-    Willing to travel internationally in Belgium and US approx. 10% - 15% of your time.
